ST-19 TREKKING TRAILS IN SHAN MOUNTAINS

Day 01 - Yangon Arrival
Arrive Yangon. Meet at Airport and transfer to Hotel.
Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.

Sightseeing Yangon : World famous Shwedagon Pagoda, Chauk-Htat-Gyi (Reclining Buddha), Sule Pagoda & MahaBandoola Park, National Museum and Bogyoke Market.
Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.

Yangon to Heho by morning flight. Drive to Nyaung shwe and transfer to hotel by boat. Excursion to Inle Lake by boat : Native Method of fishing, Floating Gardens, Floating Islands, Weaving Village, Phaung-Daw-Oo Pagoda and Monastery of jumping cats.

After breakfast, excursion by long tail boat to Inn-dein Pagoda Complex which are situated on the Western Shore of Inle Lake, where you will find Indein village and continue by a covered path leading to the hidden and unknown INN-DEIN PAGODA complex : approximate 1050 stupas of 15 century.

After breakfast, transfer to Nante` by boat (20 min). Disembark from the boat to start trekking. Visit very big Buddha Image in open air, 20 minutes to Let-Pan village, another 20 minutes to Phaya-Gyi village and then 30 more minutes to Nyaung Phyu village. From Nyaung Phyu village, trek to Kan Taw New village completed with primary school and Lwe Tan Monastery. Then, another 10 more minutes to Lwe Kin village (40 households and a school) and continue by easy slope to Htat Ein Village. On the way, you can observe plantation of Tumeric, Thanatphet (Leave to make cheroot : Burmese cigar), garlic and vegetables etc. From Htat Ein Village, trek another 10 min to visit Htat Ein Cave (limestone meditation cave) and monastery. Visit around and then 1hr easy down slope trek to Nyaung Shwe. Overnight at Hotel in Nyaung Shwe.

Drive from Nyaung Shwe to Shwe Nyaung train station by car (15 min) and take a train at 08:00a.m. 3½ hrs train ride to Kalaw by passing through the Shan mountains. Stops at Heho and Aung Ban stations are interesting to observe movement of people selling fruits, water, flowers in this region. Various kinds of plantations and pine trees can be seen on the way. Arrive to Kalaw and drive to Pindaya. Visit Pindaya caves, Pindaya lake etc.

Around 08:30 hr start trek from Pindaya Cave to Kyay-Thwin-Gone village (1 hr). Then another 2 hr walk to Dudai-Ye Village. The trek up-hill to Danu village and on the way, you can see plantations of tea leaves, Indian Leek, Avocado and some vegetables. Rest for lunch and visit around of schools and process of making green tea (dried tea leaves) in the village.
After lunch start trek to Yae-Kyi Village for 1½ hr through the thick forest. Continue another 1 hr trek to Myin-Dwin Village and then 20 min more to Taung-Myint-Gyi village (Palaung Village). The trek route is not tough, easy walking.
Freshly cooked dinner and overnight at the monastery in Taung-Myint-Gyi.

Around 08:30 hr, start trek 1 hr to Yae-Win Village (Danu village). Another 2 hr trek across a small forest and water stream, to See-Kya-Inn (Danu village) and have lunch there. After lunch, 1 hr trek to Htut-Ni village and then another 1 hr to Pindaya.
Overnight at Conqueror Hotel.

Transfer to Heho Airport (1½ hrs). Heho to Kyaing Tong by flight. Transfer to hotel. Visit to U Mulein Da’s Shan Lacquer ware workshop. Overnight at hotel in Kyaing Tong.

Start with the visit to Kat Tauk area, Pin-Tauk Village and then trekking to see Ahka & Ann tribes. Picnic Lunch at Pin-Tauk Water Fall (at your own expense). To see Wan Kan Villager making Sake' Rice Win with Traditional process. Hand-making "Sea-pulp" Shan paper works of Wan Lau village. Overnight at hotel in Kyaing Tong.

Visit unspoiled Wan Nyet old monastery and Wan Seng villag, the Tai Loi’s places near Namp-Lwei stream unreachable at one time. Back to Kyaung Tong.

Visit Kyaung Tong Bazaar and see many monority people shopping in the morning. Transfer to airport. KyaingTong / Mandalay by flight. Arrive Tada-Oo airport and transfer to hotel (1 hr).

Excursion to Amarapura & Sagaing : Visit Bagaya monastery; famous for collection of Buddha statues, MahaGandayon Buddhist Monastery, to observe the way of life at monastery, Silk weaving, Ava Bridge & Sagaing Hills; a place for Buddhist devotees and sunset from U-Bein wooden bridge.
Overnight at Hotel in Mandalay.

Mandalay / Mingun by boat across the Ayeyarwaddy River. Visit to Myatheindan Pagoda, Mingun Bell, Mingun Pagoda and Village. Return to Mandalay.
Afternoon sightseeing Mandalay : Mahamuni Image, Gold leaf making and handicraft workshops, Shwenandaw Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda and sunset from Mandalay Hill.
Overnight at Hotel in

Transfer to Jetty. Mandalay/ Bagan by boat (06:00 - 17:00)hrs. Transfer to hotel.
Overnight at Hotel in Bagan.
( Shwekaniri boat – Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday )

Morning sightseeing in Bagan : Nyaung Oo Market, Shwezigon Pagoda, Gubyaukgyi Temple and Htilominlo Temple. Afternoon sightseeing : Archaeological Museum, Ananda Temple, Lacquerware Factory, Pyat-tadagyi Temple for panoramic view of the city.
Overnight at Hotel in Bagan.

Visit Mt. Popa ( 1½ hrs) drive from Bagan rises 4981 feet elevation. It is said to be the centre of the Nats (spirits) worshippers and a core of an extinct volcano. On the way, see producing palm sugar from toddy palm juice at Shwe Zi Daing village. Return to Bagan. Overnight at Hotel in Bagan.

Morning drive to Southeast of Bagan: visit Minnanthu village, to see daily life style of Bagan people, Tayoke-pyay temple for panoramic view of the city, Lemyethna Temple, Payaathonzu Temple and Nandamanya Temples for frescoe painting of 12th century. Ta-yok pyay paya for morning panorama view & Damayasaka Stupa, a pentagonal shaped pagoda. Transfer to airport. Bagan / Yangon by evening flight. Transfer to hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.

Sightseeing Yangon : China Town and Yangon Jetty. Transfer to airport for departure flight.
