SA3 - DAY RETURN TRIP

NYAUNG SHWE ( EAST ) TREKKING

Pick up at hotel at 06:30 hrs, have breakfast at NShwe market and drive to the East of NShwe. Leave the car and start trekking to HtetEi monastery and small cave ( South Cave ). Meet people, monks & vendors on the way.

Kept walking and find Htet Ei cave (North Cave ). It is an interesting lime stone cave with so many tunnels inside, and it is a natural cave. Wonder around the cave by candles to different tunnels and found some praying flags made by Hindu believers, a simple bed of the monk who lives in the cave, a small Chedi and a reclining Buddha just outside the next entrance. Many people come for meditation during Thingyan holidays for water festival ( Mid April ).

Left the cave and start trekking for about 10min through The-nat-phat( the leave is useful to roll cheroot or Myanmar cigar) plantation and come to higher altitude. You will reach to a farm house (Pa –O) where they grow tumeric and other eatable plants. They grow tobacco, tumeric, The-nat-phat.

Htet Ei village look green with many kinds of plantations such as vegetables, pineapple chili, marrow, cauliflower, cabbage, and also trees like jack fruit, cotton, mango and flowers of the season. Have a cup of green tea at the farm house and learn their way of living for about 30min).

Start trekking again to Nat Nwe village , all the way is an easy slope climbing gradually up hills. You’ll fine some big trees (kind of jacaranda) and pine trees. Nat Nwe is a nice village surrounded by mountains, Pa-O people earned their living by growing Tha-nat phat and vegetables such as bananna, shallot, tangerine.

Returned to Htet Ei village and have lunch at one of the Pa-O houses. Leave the house for Lwe-Kin village that takes only 10mins from short cut ( if we take normal route , it will take 20min ).

Lwe-Kin village has about 40houses and a primary school. They grow peas, shallot, avocado, banana, papaya. Keep walking and reached to Lin-Khe village that has about 20 houses. Lin-Khe has wooden houses built in rows beside the main road. There is one school for children of Lin-Khe. Thatch roofing is their main job and also do many kinds of plantation like other villagers. It has abundant of water for the village people. Keep walking through the village and reach Kandaw-ywar-thit village ( means new village near royal lake ).

Take a car or horse cart back to the hotel.
