Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Mandalay

Arrive to Mandalay International airport. Our English Speaking guide in Mandalay will meet and greet you at airport. Direct sightseeing in Mandalay : Visit to Mahamuni Image; a place of Intense devotion to pilgrims from all over the world, visit Myanmar handicraft “Tapestry Works”. Visit Shwenandaw Kyaung; the Golden Palace Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda; the world's largest book and sunset from Mandalay Hill with the view of dotted pagodas and Ayeyarwaddy River. Finally, check-in to your hotel. Overnight a hotel in Mandalay.

Day 2: Mingun (S.I.C Boat) & Ava & Amarapura (Breakfast)

After breakfast, proceed to Mayan Chan jetty and board on a local wooden boat for Mingun across Ayeyarwady river <11 km, approx 1 hour>. The boat trip is interesting because you see all types of wooden boats and bamboo rafts, carrying goods up and down the river. Observe the world's largest ringing bell casted by Bodawpaya in 1800 weighing 55555 viss which calculated equal to 90 tons and Mingun Pahtodawgyi, an enormous pile of bricks is all that remain of King Bodawpaya ambition to make it the world's largest Buddhist stupa. After a visit of beautiful Mya Thein Tan Pagoda return to Mandalay. Afternoon drive to Ava. Ava is located on an island which can be reached by local ferry, crossing the Myitnge River. Pass through the ancient city walls by horse cart and see the remains of the ancient city: the brick and stucco monastery "Maha Aungmye Bonzan", the renovated Nanmyin Watch Tower and the impressive wooden monastery of Bagaya Kyaung constructed with 267 teak pillars. The abbot of Bagaya Kyaung monastery used one part of the property as monastic school for children far and near. Then visit another ancient capital- Amarapura. It is known for its MahaGandayon Buddhist Monastery, good to observe the life style of thousands of Buddhist monks and then sunset from U-Bein wooden bridge constructed across the TaungThaMann Lake. Return to Mandalay. Overnight a hotel in Mandalay.

Day 3: Mandalay – Bagan by ferry boat (Breakfast)

Early transfer to Mandalay jetty around 05:30 hrs. Mandalay – Bagan by ferry boat ETD 06:00 - ETA 17:00 hrs.

Please take note: 1. Arrival time in Bagan will be flexible – depending on the water level in the River.
2. Onboard restaurant services are quite basic … bring your own lunch box/fruits are recommended. Arrive to Bagan jetty and transfer to your hotel by car. Overnight at hotel in Bagan.

Day 4: Bagan Biking Tour with local Bike guide (Breakfast)(TOTAL BIKING DISTANCE – around 25 kilometer)

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Bagan Temple field by bike & Bike guide. Biking to Nyaung U, village market , Shwe zigone ;prototype of Myanmar stupas, the most beautiful Ananda Temple , stop at Experience rural Myanmar, its culture and traditions, by bike. Wind your way through the temples and villages, stopping to enjoy tea and chat with the locals. After lunch in a local curry house, continue to Nyaung U. Join the locals at a tea shop, see the production of Bagan specialties (such as pea paste powder and plum jam) and watch craftsmen at work. Evening biking around the village at Sunset. Overnight at hotel in Bagan.

Day 5: Pokokku & Bagan (Breakfast)

After breakfast, start your halfday trip to Pakokku by car, the small town well known for Myanmar traditional cotton blanket weaving. Visit to the colorful market, visit the home industry of Myanmar dolls made of papier-marche and the famous Shwe gu Ta-Ke ( exquisite wood carving door), Thihoshin ; amazing Buddha image from Ceylon and visit to Tha-na-khar market. Return to Bagan in the afternoon. Late afternoon, take a horse cart ride through the temple field of Bagan passing by several pagodas and temples along the path. While the sun is setting down, red brick color of small temples such as Shwe Nan Yin Taw pagoda complex make the photogenic spot. Continue to the massive Damayangyi Pagoda and Shwesandaw pagoda or one of the special place for sunset viewing. Overnight at hotel in Bagan.

Day 6: Bagan – Kalaw by express bus (Breakfast)

After breakfast, transfer to express bus station. Bagan – Kalaw by day bus ETD 08:00- ETA 14:30 hrs. Arrive bus stop in Kalaw. You will be met and transfer to your hotel. Kalaw is a famous hill station town since British colonial time. There are still Nepali Gurkhas and Indians, whose ancestors came here to build the roads and railway during the colonial era. Afternoon walking tour around Kalaw through path along the hill sides, find foot prints of British colonial times, such as restored cottages– Christ the King Church attractive and historic church that dates back to the colonial era and famously had the same priest for 69 years & Theintaung Pagoda for panoramic view of the city. Overnight at hotel in Kalaw.

Day 7: Kalaw overnight trekking to Myindaik Village (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner)

After breakfast, morning visit around the town including Shwe U Min Pagoda (Shwe Oo Min Paya), a cave filled with golden Buddhas, Kalaw market, and busy train station in Kalaw. After lunch time around 13:00 hrs, walk through the pine clad roads (1:30 hrs), you will proceed to Gurkhas (Nepali) & Indian village; descendants of Indian and Nepali rail workers who migrated here during British rule. Rest and have a chance to do local wine tasting at the village. Keep walking another (1:30hrs), you will proceed to Myin Sine Gone village where we have ancient monasteries. Take some time to study around and keep walking another 45 minutes to Myindaik village. Overnight at the village house ( simple accommodation with bed , pillows and mosquito net)

Day 8: Myindaik Village – Aung Ban by train (Breakfast, Lunch)

After breakfast at the village, visit to the fruit and flowers gardens by a short trek to Ywarpu village. Return to Myindaik Station. Hop in to the local train around 10:30 hrs (arrival time of train is not always on time ). Take a short ride passing through Kalaw station until Aung Ban station where you can alight from the train. Finally, you will be transferred by a car to hotel in Nyaung Shwe. Overnight at hotel in Nyaung Shwe.

Day 9: Inle Lake & Indein Pagoda (Breakfast)

Breakfast at hotel and board on a traditional long and tall motorized boat for a sightseeing tour of the lake. Traveling on the lake is an exhilarating experience for nature lovers and a chance to observe the unique traditions of the Intha people. Wonder unique leg rowing fishermen, floating firms , houses and monasteries on the stilt etc. Visit Indein ruins complex with pagoda and stupas built in the 18th century. Enjoy rows of shops along the corridor up hill. Return to Inle and continue visit floating village of Ywama, the lake's downtown and largest village on the Inlay Lake, 11 century Phaungdaw Oo pagoda housing five sacred Buddha Images. Take a walk to Lechae village to see workman ship of Tin Smith for Tiers of Pagodas and art of moulding Buddha statue by flower powder and the weaving village of Inpawkhon, famous for traditional silk-weaving, Nan Pan Village with cheroot making and boat-building dockyards etc and end your day with a visit famous Ngaphechaung, a museum like monastery where old belongings of many monasteries are restored. Overnight at hotel in Nyaung Shwe.

Day 10: Inle Lake – Heho – Yangon by Flight` (Breakfast)

Breakfast at hotel. Your English speaking guide will transfer to Heho airport. Heho – Yangon by morning flight. Arrive to Yangon airport. The guide in Yangon will meet you at the airport and drive to down town Yangon , passing by famous Rangoon University (1920) & Royal Lake where we can admire the view of the Karaweik Hall overlooking this scenic lake. Check –in at the hotel. Then, the tour leads to Sule Pagoda with its golden chedi, which makes a useful landmark in downtown Yangon. Yangon is filled with impressive colonial style government buildings such as the City Hall, General Telegraph Office, the Supreme Court, High Court and many pastel- painted shops and apartments. Later stop at Bogyoke market, , formally known as Scott Market, a sprawling 75 year old shopping complex noted for its variety of handicrafts and other items which provide an excellent opportunity for a shopping spree. Afterwards, enjoy the sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda, famous world wide - its golden stupa is the 'heart' of Buddhist Myanmar., The Pagoda is believed to be 2,500 years old and the central stupa in surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated buildings and statues. There are always many Myanmar people praying and making offerings at Shwedagon, and it's a fascinating place to spend time watching the world go by. Walk the nearby markets after sunset and enjoy the intense sights and sounds of Myanmar. Overnight at hotel in Yangon.

Day 11: Departure (Breakfast)

Breakfast at hotel. Guided transfer to Yangon International airport for out bound flight.

  • If the travel date meets with X’mas Eve (24 Dec ’17) & New Year Eve (31 Dec ’17), there will be surcharge for compulsory Dinner at the hotels. Please check with us for those surcharges.
  • Pre-booking for Balloon rides in Bagan on request basis. Please check with us if you wish to experience the Balloon rides in Bagan during your trip. You need to give your body weights (if possible in kilograms).
