After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel about 07:30 hrs and drive to May Haw Nan hotel, which is situated East of Nyaung Shwe. Leave the car and your trekking tour will start, 15min later at 07:30hrs reached Htet Ei monastery and small cave (South Cave). Being market day in Nyaung Shwe, you can see local people with their traditional costumes, monks and ox carts on the way.
Keep walking and find Htet Ei cave (North Cave). It is an interesting cave with so many different tunnels inside. The cave is lime stone cave and it is a natural cave. You can go in by candles to different tunnels and find some praying flags made by Hindu believers, a simple bed of the monk who lives in the cave (you can learn the monk daily life style, how to try to finish up their life circle following Buddha way/ Theravada Buddhism), a small Chedi and a reclining Buddha just outside the next entrance. Many people come for meditation during Thingyan water festival (Myanmar New Year Holiday/Mid April).
Then, leave the cave and start trekking, you will walk for about 10min through The-nat-phat( the leave is useful to roll cheroot or Myanmar cigar) plantation and we have come to higher altitude. When you reach to a farm house (Pa-O) where they grow tumeric and other eatable plants, can halt at the farm house, have tea and can learn their way of living. They grow tobacco, tumeric, The-nat-phat, Htet Ei village look green with many kinds of plantations. You can also see vegetables like pineapple chili, marrow, cauliflower, cabbage, and trees like jack fruit, cotton, mango and flowers of the season.
Continue trekking to Nar Nwet village. This route will take you 45m, you will climbing gradually up hills and walk through some big trees (kind of jacaranda) and pine trees.
You will walk ups and downs and about 1100 hrs, you will reach Nar Nwet village, Nar Nwet is a nice village surrounded by mountains, Pa-O people earned their living by growing Tha-nat phat and vegetables such as bananna, shallot and tangerine. Then return to Htet Ei village that takes 01hr and will have lunch at 12:30hr in one of the houses (Your guide will arrange for your lunch and eat at that house). Leave the house at 01:00hr to Lwe-Kin village that takes about 20 mins.
Lwe-Kin village has about 40 houses and a primary school. They grow peas, shallot, avocado, banana, papaya. Keep walking to Lin-Khe village that has about 20 houses. Lin-Khe has wooden houses built in rows beside the main road. There is one school for children of Lin-Khe. Thatch roofing is their main job and also does many kinds of plantation like other villagers. It has abundant of water for the village people. Keep walking through the village and reach another village in a row, which is called Kandaw-ywar-thit (means new village near royal lake).
Return to your hotel in Nyaung Shwe.
