A new trekking route has been explored as an extension from Maymyo. Depart 08:00hrs from Maymyo Pwekhauk waterfall. Walk along the village path and some plantation for one hour will reach a small cave where U Hnaung (a hermit) used to meditate last 80 yrs ago. The cave was in a dense forest with a stream flowing beside. Keep trekking after the cave and the monastery to fields of plantation. The interesting place is Nat Kyone forest and Nat Kyone fort where Shan and Myanmar army had a battle while sending back the Shan Princess Saw Mon Hla. Nat kyone forest is a very thick and dark tropical forest where many kinds of hard wood grow. Keep walking through various plantations, a village and small streams will reach a spring field valley or Ye-thayauk-kone village.
Total time of trekking is about 2hr 30mins. Can keep trekking to the East for another 2hrs will reach the Paik-chin-myaung water fall.
