Day 1 Yangon - Myitkyina [B]


Yangon/ Myitkyina by flight

Your guide will be joining the same flight from Mandalay to Myitkyina. Arrive to Myitkyina and sightseeing visit to Myitsone (Confluence of two legendary rivers). Overnight at hotel.




Day 2 Myitkyina - Bhamo [B/ L/ D]


Drive to Bhamo [5 hrs for the strerch of 190km, depend on the road condition]. You will need special permission from the authorities and we hope to get this green light in time. Lunch @ riverside restaurant. Check in on board the Amara River Cruise at Afternoon. Overnight at Amara River Cruise.




Day 3 Bhamo - Shwe Gu [B/ L/ D]


Set sail at 8:00 am. On the way, we will pass the beautiful Second Defile. The river banks become a steep cliff and the river bottom drops away to extrie depths. The river scene is amazing and offers beautiful scenery. In the afternoon, we arrive in Shwegu and visit the pagodas of Shwe Baw Kyunn on the opposite river bank of Shwegu, where the Amara will stop for overnight.




Day 4 Shwe Gu - Katha [B/ L/ D]


We leave Shwegu in the morning at 8:00 am. The scenery along the river is beautiful with small villages and dense tropical forest. This day is a good chance to see the famous Ayeyarwaddy Dolphin, quite common in this area. In the afternoon, we will reach Katha, a beautiful town with an interesting market, friendly people, and a unique atmosphere. Katha is known from the book "Burmese Days" written by George Orwell. Dinner and overnight on board the Amara. Overnight on boat.




Day 5 Kahta - Tagaung [B/ L/ D]


Set sail at 8:00 am. Our journey will continue downstream until Tagaung, one of the oldest capitals of Myanmar. Proceed for sightseeing at Tagaung. Overnight and dinner on board the Amara.




Day 6 Tagaung - Kyaukmyaung [B/ L/ D]


Set sail at 8:00 am. We continued until Thabeikkyin. We will pass the Third Defile. This area is covered with dense teak forest. Dinner and overnight on board the Amara near Kyaukmyaung.




Day 7 Kyaukmyaung - Mingun [B/ L/ D]


Set sail at 8:00 am down stream to New Nyein (potery village). After sightseeing sailing down stram to Mingun with the Mingun Bell, weighing 90 tones and biggest hanging undamaged bell in the world; Shin Phyume pagoda, and the unfinished Mingun pagoda, a colossal brick monument. Dinner and overnight on board the Amara near Mingun.




Day 8 Mingun - Mandalay [B]


Jetty Set Sailing down to Mandalay. Check out after breakfast at Mandalay Jetty. Check out Time approx. 8:00 am.
