KYAIK HTIYO | HPA AN | MAWLAMYINE | YANGON
Day 1 Yangon - Bago - Kyaik Htiyo
Yangon / Bago by car (1.5 hrs), an ancient "Mon" capital. Sightseeing Bago: East of Yangon, across the Gulf of Martaban is known as the Land of "Mon". Visit Bago market and Kyakatwaing Buddhist monastery to observe the life style of thousands of Buddhist Monks, Shwemawdaw Pagoda, Shwe-Tha-Lyaung Reclining Buddha and Kyaik-Pun Buddha images.
Continue to Kyaik-hto (Kin-pun camp) 4.5 hrs drive and take small truck (1hr) to YaThae-Taung. Then walk up 45mins to the Kyaik-hti-yo Pagoda (The Golden Rock). Visit around until sunset and overnight at Hotel.
Day 2 Kyaik Htiyo - Hpa An - Mawlamyaine [B]
Visit around Kyaiktiyo Pagoda and return to the camp.
Drive to Hpa An (3 Hrs). Visit to Karen villages of different religion, Pa-O weaving village, Kyaik Kalat pagoda on top of amazing boulder, the ancient Kaw-kun cave with thousands of votive tablets and the story of Mon king and ZweKabin Mountain.
Continue drive to Mawlamyaine (1.5 Hrs). Check-in Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3 Mawlamyaine [B]
Visit Mawlamyaine and around: Mawlamyaine Market, WinSein Tawya Monastery with Reclining Buddha of 160m and hundreds Monks statues, Pha-Out Tawya Meditation center in Mudone visit to Kyaik-ma-yaw. Visit Sein Don Teakwood monastery and KyaikThaLan pagoda for sunset.
If time permits in the afternoon, visit Gaung-Say Island and beyond Mawlamyaine by boat. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 4 Kado Kawhnat Islands (or) Than-Byu-Zayat [B]
To day visit to one of the famous Islands around Mawlamyaine
Visit by motor boat to Kado Kawhnat Islands.Visit around by horse carts to bold and beautiful houses and monasteries made of solid Teakwood shows the richest of the country's resource.
Visit to the famous U Nar Auk monastery, built over a century ago by U Nar Auk, U Htaw Ung, U Htaw Rite and other personalities from those villages famed in their days for their wealth and generosity. U Nar Auk was the owner of the fleet of boats and competitor of British owned Ayeyarwaddy Flottila Company. He has now come to be regarded as a historical figure because he dared to confront and compete with the commercial juggernaut of the British Raj.
(or) Visit to the South of Mawlamyaing, Than-Byu-Zayat, some 65km away to the Prisoner of War cietery. Buried here are allied prisoner-of-war who died construction the World War ll railway to Thailand for the Japanese.
Day 5 Mawlamyaine - Yangon [B]
Mawlamyaine / Yangon by car (7hrs) crossing Mawlamyaine Bridge. Transfer to hotel.
Overnight at Hotel.
